MACRUA- “Intro To My Mindset” Single Release.
Carlow based songster MACRUA’s new single drops on September 20th. Titled “Intro to My Mindset” it marks an interesting and exciting shift in genre mixing clever lyrics with equally memorable and catchy melodic motifs.
Inspired by heavy hitters Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino and Eminem the track tackles MACRUA’s fears of going deeper into the music industry, with his goal to retain his humility. Sure to resonate with the Indie rap massive, the track will also appeal to those who appreciate and admire genuine musical talent
Produced by David Ayers
Mastered by Brian Shiel
“MAC RUA has a huge future ahead of him. A natural on stage. I cannot wait to see how his future develops. It’s a pleasure working on his records”- Brian Shiel -Brian Shiel (x8 #1’s on iTunes)

Who is MACRUA?
MacRua is
A singer/songwriter
extraordinaire from Carlow.
He is an eclectic mix of pop, rock, rap and hip hop, the list goes on…
He is already attracting plenty of attention for his clever, catchy, quirky, original songs and his equally quirky look.
MacRua recently teamed up with producer Dave Ayers (Studio 51) to record his debut album, titled Storyboard. It features 12 original tracks that showcase MacRua’s incredible voice.
MacRua’s musical theatre background serves him well both vocally and performance wise
and although strongly influenced by artists such as Bowie,
Elton John
and Jeff Lynn,
His style is comparable
to the genius of Jonathan Richmond, MIKA and Eminem.
MacRua doesn’t have a self conscious bone in his body and cares
little whether something is cool or not. He’s just happy to sing and that’s massively to his credit.
His ability to take his audience down the rabbit hole on a magnificent sing along joy ride is worth the money alone. He is as comfortable singing about a slice of toast as he is love or heartbreak but what sets him apart is his interpretation, lyrics, dynamic repertoire and his captivating stage antics.
He released his first single independently. Titled “Shotgun”, it immediately resonated with his peers and saw him play shows in Whelan’s Main Room, Grand Social Dublin, Fibber Magees, The Tower Carlow, Visual Theatre Carlow and The Arts Centre Kildare.
If you haven’t seen MacRua live, do so before his stock price goes up.
